Full body laser hair removal means treating several areas of the body as one planned course, instead of booking each area separately as you think of it. It suits people who are tired of shaving or waxing most of their body and want one plan, one set of preparation rules and one timeline to follow. Like any laser course, it gives long-term hair reduction, with occasional top-ups usually needed later.
At ZARA, 304 Edgware Road, London W2, you choose which areas make up your full body plan. Visits take longer than a single area, and the course is arranged so each area is treated at the right interval.
Full body laser is priced at your free consultation, because the cost depends on how many areas you include and the size of each. A patch test comes before your first session.
Which areas can a full body plan include?
There is no fixed package. You build the plan from the areas that matter to you, which can include:
- Legs and feet: lower legs, full legs, toes and tops of the feet.
- Arms and hands: the forearms alone or the whole arm, plus the fingers.
- Underarms.
- Bikini and intimate area: from a standard line to fuller coverage, discussed privately.
- Torso: back, chest, stomach, shoulders and the line of hair below the navel.
- Neck and face: front and back of the neck, plus facial areas such as the upper lip and chin.
Some people want everything from the neck down. Others mean legs, underarms and bikini. Both are valid full body plans, and we will help you decide what is worth including.
How is a full body course planned?
Different parts of the body grow hair on different cycles, and only hairs in their active growth phase respond well to the light. Body areas are usually treated four to eight weeks apart, while facial hair grows on a shorter cycle and is often booked closer together.
That means a full body plan is not always one identical appointment repeated. If you include your face, it may need short extra visits between the main body sessions. We map this out at consultation so you know roughly when you will be coming in, and we adjust the plan at each visit as some areas respond faster than others.
How long does a full body visit take?
A full body visit takes longer than a single area, and the exact time depends on how many areas you include and how large they are. We will give you a realistic appointment length when you book, so you can plan the rest of your day around it.
Because each visit is longer, timing matters. We are open 10:30am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, which makes it easier to fit a long appointment around work.
How many sessions does a full body course take?
For most body areas, six to eight sessions is a typical course. With visits spaced weeks apart, a full body course runs over many months rather than a few weeks, so it is worth starting when you can commit to regular appointments.
Areas will not all finish at the same time. Thick, dark hair on the legs or underarms often thins quickly, while hormone-driven hair on the chin or stomach can take longer. Once the course is complete, some hair is likely to return over time, and top-up sessions once or twice a year are common.
Will every area respond the same way?
Not always. The light targets melanin, so areas with dark hair respond more reliably than areas with grey, white, red or very fair hair. If your arm hair is pale but your leg hair is dark, we may suggest leaving the arms out rather than paying for sessions unlikely to help.
Skin tone also varies across the body, and parts that see the sun, like the arms and lower legs, may be darker than the torso. Darker tones call for careful settings and the right choice between diode and IPL, with diode generally considered the more flexible of the two. The patch test, 24 to 48 hours before the first full session, checks how your skin reacts.
How do you prepare when treating a lot of skin?
- Stop waxing, plucking, threading and epilating on every area in the plan for about four weeks before you start.
- Shave all the areas about 24 hours before each visit. A partner or friend can help with the back. Avoid hair removal creams throughout.
- Keep all treated areas out of the sun and away from sunbeds and self-tan for several weeks before each session. Many people start a full body course in autumn or winter for this reason.
- Arrive with clean skin and no lotion, deodorant, make-up or perfume on the areas being treated.
What should you expect afterwards, and who should wait?
With more skin treated at once, you may notice redness, warmth like mild sunburn and small raised bumps over a larger area. These usually settle within a few hours to a day or two. Keep cool, use a fragrance-free moisturiser, apply SPF to any treated skin that is exposed, and avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Burns, blistering and changes in skin colour are less common risks, and you should contact us if anything worries you.
Treatment waits during pregnancy, while taking light-sensitising medicines such as isotretinoin or some antibiotics, and if any area has an infection, cold sores or broken skin. Tattoos and raised moles anywhere in the plan are avoided or covered. To plan your course, book a free consultation by WhatsApp on 07479 973309, call 020 4619 8781, or use the online form.
Please ask your GP about any mole that is new or changing, or any rash that has not been diagnosed, before we treat that area. NHS 111 is there if you feel unwell after a session and cannot get hold of us.
Full body laser hair removal: your questions answered
Is full body laser cheaper than booking areas separately?
Laser hair removal at ZARA is priced at consultation, based on the areas you choose, their size and your course plan. We will give you the cost of your full plan before you commit.
Can I start with a few areas and add more later?
Yes. You can book a single area or combine several, and some people start with two or three areas before adding others. Each new area follows its own course from its first session.
Does full body include the face and intimate area?
Only if you want it to. You decide which areas are part of the plan. The intimate area is discussed privately at consultation, and facial areas are usually booked at shorter intervals.
Can I have a full body course in the summer?
It is possible, but it is harder, because every treated area needs to stay untanned. If you start in summer, keep the areas covered and use daily SPF on exposed skin.
What if some areas finish before others?
That is normal. We review your progress at every visit and drop areas that need no further sessions, so later appointments may be shorter.
Do I need a separate patch test for each area?
A patch test is carried out on a small area 24 to 48 hours before your first full session. We will discuss at consultation whether your plan needs more than one test area.
